Girls and Boys Soccer Sweep Strong Rock

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys soccer teams hit the road on Tuesday, April 9, taking on the Strong Rock Christian Patriots in non-region play.

In the girls game, the Lady Vikings (13-1-1) gained its twelfth shutout of the season en route to a 5-0 win over the Lady Patriots.

Atalia Ramirez and Jane Howell each scored two goals while Annie Kate Barnes scored one goal, respectively.

Katey Griggs, Amy Morgan, Maisyn Samples, Taylor Chapman and Ramirez all picked up an assist on the night.

FPD outshot Strong Rock 20-3 on the evening. Senior keeper Claire Crawford recorded two saves as well.

In the boys game, the Vikings (9-5) used two goals from Bradley Mullis to seal the win. Conner Gettman and Kelsey Smith each netted a goal for FPD to aide in the shutout effort.

Christian Moore found his teammates nicely, picking up two assists while Mullis also had an assist in the win.

Senior keeper Jeremy Overman was credites for 13 saves in the game as FPD was outshot 14-13.

The soccer teams return to the field quickly, traveling to Warner Robins High School for a scheduled double-header at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
