Volleyball Falls in Region Tournament Championship

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School volleyball team advanced to the Region 1 Tournament Championship match after a victory against Greenville but eventually fell to Brookstone in four games (25-20/21-25/19-25/15-25) to claim a runner-up finish on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Lady Vikings led the match 1-0 after winning Game One 25-20, but the Lady Cougars of Brookstone roared back for three straight wins to take the match 3-1.

Olivia Taylor led the Lady Vikings with 84 sets on the day, Alisha Napier finished the match with three aces and Lizzie Lisenby finished with seven kills.

Mikayla Mobley recorded 26 digs in the four-game span as well.

For their efforts in Saturday’s matches, Taylor and Callie Wilson earned spots on the All-Tournament team.

The Lady Vikings (17-20-3) will advance to the GHSA Class-A State Tournament as the no. 2 seed from Area 1, hosting the no. 3 seed from Area 3 on Thursday, Oct. 17. Check www.fpdvikings.com  for details and match times in the coming days.
