Volleyball Qualifies for Second Straight GHSA Postseason

MACON, Ga. – The FPD volleyball team is headed back to the GHSA Class-A State Playoffs for a second straight year, hosting Paideia in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday, Oct. 17.

This is the second consecutive trip to the postseason for FPD in as many years of varsity competition. FPD fell to Calvary Baptist in the 2012 playoffs in three games.

FPD has improved its win-loss record each season, winning 17 games in 2013, a noticeable upward trend from the 10 wins in 2012.

The Lady Vikings (17-20-3) most recently took second place in the Region-1 Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 12, falling to Brookstone in four games.

First serve on Thursday is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the match will be a best three-of-five game format.
