Cross Country Puts Five on All-Middle Georgia Team

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Telegraph named its 2013 All-Middle Georgia Girls and Boys Cross Country Team with five runners, four girls and one boy, picking up a spot on the squad for FPD.

On the girls side, a trio of seniors that includes Savannah Phillips, Katie O’Quinn and Jessica Smith along with sophomore McKenzie Peterson, were picked to represent the Lady Vikings.

Phillips and Smith earned spots on the All-Middle Georgia team in 2012, respectively.

On the boys side, sophomore Will Martin was the lone Viking on the team, picking up his second consecutive nod on the All-Middle Georgia Team.

The season was a memorable one for both the girls and boys. The Lady Vikings finished fourth at the GHSA Class-A State Meet, while the boys took home sixth place.

Both teams also picked up their fourth straight area title back in October at the Georgia Children’s Home.
