Boys Hoops’ Late Comeback Halted Against Landmark

MACON, Ga. – The FPD boys basketball team fought hard, nearly pulling off the unthinkable comeback after trailing by 13 points at the end of the third quarter, but fell 74-68 to the Landmark Christian War Eagles (17-3) on Senior Night at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

Senior T.J. Sams notched a game-high 28 points and classmate Caleb Samuel poured in 22 points in the losing bid, along with 18 rebounds.

The Vikings trailed 26-16 at the end of the first quarter and 42-26 at halftime, but fought back to tie the game at 64-64 with just over three minutes remaining in the game.

The War Eagles would outscore the Vikings 10-4 over the final minutes to secure the win.

Landmark capitalized on the long-ball, dropping in a whopping 13 3-pointers in the win.

The War Eagles were led in scoring by the 19 points of Collier Schultz. Teammate Zack Allen scored 14 points, respectively.

FPD will return to action on Tuesday night, February 4, traveling to GMC Prep for the final game of the regular season.

Tip-off against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Milledgeville.
