Girls Soccer Nets Win Over St. Vincents

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The FPD girls soccer team (1-0) started the 2014 season on the right foot, defeating the St. Vincent’s Lady Saints 3-0 on Friday night, February 14.

Junior Jane Howell scored two goals in the first period to lead the Lady Vikings to victory.

Howell wasn’t done, though, as she assisted senior Amy Morgan’s goal in the second half, FPD’s lone score of the period.

The Lady Vikings held the advantage on shots on the night, outshooting the Lady Saints 20-8.

Senior keeper Megan Sparks was busy in the net for FPD, recording seven saves, respectively.

The Lady Vikings return to the pitch on Thursday, February 27, hosting the Jones County Lady Greyhounds at the FPD Soccer Complex at 5:30 p.m.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.
