Girls Soccer Brave West Laurens in Viking Cup Semis

MACON, Ga. – The FPD girls soccer team (4-0) picked up their fourth straight win on Friday night, March 7, a 3-0 decision over the West Laurens High School Lady Raiders in the semifinals of the 2014 Viking Cup.

The victory propels the Lady Vikings into the Championship match Saturday night against the winner of the Fellowship/Veterans contest.

FPD spread the scoring throughout the night, with all three goals coming via the foot of a different player.

Amy Morgan, Jane Howell and Kate Patterson all notched a goal for the Vikings, who picked up their fourth straight shutout of the season in as many tries.

Patterson and Baylee Heard also aided in the goals scored for the Lady Viking, each accounting for an assist.

FPD outshot West Laurens 15-1 and Megan Sparks tallied one save in the shutout.

Lady Raider goalie Payton Dennis snagged 11 saves, respectively.

The Lady Vikings have now outscored opponents 24-0 on the year.

Kick-off for the championship match is set for 7:30 p.m.
