Girls Tennis Wins, Boys Fall at Home to Strong Rock

MACON, Ga. – The FPD girls and boys tennis teams hit the courts on Tuesday, March 11 at the John Drew Tennis Center against the Strong Rock Christian School Patriots, with the girls earning a 4-1 win and the boys team dropping a 4-1 decision.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings cruised to the win.

Mary Madison Foshee picked up a win in the singles portion of the competition with a 9-7 mark over Sarah Ashley Jernigan.

Also taking her singles match for FPD was Yuka Yokoyama, an 8-3 win over Paige Morton.

In doubles, the Lady Vikings took both matches. Summer Sanders/Maggie Moody defeated Caroline Leslie/Ruth Hall 8-3 and Ruth Samuel/Katlyn Smaha shutout Brianna Deraney/Elle Peavy 8-0.

The boys squad struggled all afternoon, as FPD’s only victory in the match came via FPD’s doubles team of Taylor Burns/Eliel Ramirez who defeated Justin Hastings/James Paulk 8-0.

The tennis teams return to action on Wednesday, March 12, hosting Howard High School at 4 p.m. FPD’s next home following match is Monday, March 17 against Mary Persons at 4 p.m.
