Soccer Nets Sweep Over Perry on Senior Night

MACON, Ga. – The FPD girls and boys soccer teams ended their regular seasons in style, sweeping the Perry Panthers on Tuesday night, April 23 at the FPD Soccer Complex on Senior Night.

In the boys match, the Vikings (11-4-1) took the match 3-2.

Michael Oates, Kevin Griggs and Christian Moore scored a goal for the Vikings. Griggs and Cole Morton were credited with an assist as well.

FPD keeper Matthew Feagin picked up 10 saves in the win. Bonner Brooks had six saves for Perry, who outshot FPD 12-9.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings (16-0) earned its eleventh shutout of the year with a 6-0 victory.

Jane Howell poured in four goals for FPD, while Sara Robertson and Kate Patterson each netted one score.

FPD blanked Perry on shots 25-0 on its way to the win.

The Vikings and Lady Vikings will now look forward to GHSA postseason play.

The boys team will host Athens Academy on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. The girls squad will begin its playoff run on Friday, May 2 at home. Time and opponent will be announced at a later date.
