Golf Puts Three on 2014 All-Middle Georgia Squad

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Telegraph released its 2014 All-Middle Georgia Golf team on Friday, June 6 and three FPD golfers made the list.

Senior Dalton Taylor and sophomore Charles Stroud earned spots on the First Team for the Vikings while junior Brantley Wilson was named an Honorable Mention.

Taylor, a team captain, paced FPD all season, including a team-best 73 at the GHSA Area-1 Tournament at Healy Point on April 22. For the season, the righty posted a scoring average of 76.3.

Stroud had a breakout season for the Vikings, posting low numbers in the area tournament (74) and the GHSA Class-A State Tournament (73). For the season, his scoring average was a solid 77.4.

Rounding FPD’s golfers on the All-Middle Georgia Team is Wilson.

The junior posted a 79 at the state tournament in Augusta on May 19 and carded multiple 9-hole rounds of sub-40.

The golf team took fifth at the GHSA Class-A State Tournament and finished as the Area-1 Runner-Up for 2014.
