Girls Basketball Downed at George Walton 47-15

MONROE, Ga. – The FPD offense never got into a rhythm as the George Walton Academy Lady Bulldogs handed the Lady Vikings (1-1) their first loss of the 2014-15 season, a 47-15 decision at the Nicholson Center on Friday night, Dec. 5.

FPD trailed 14-4 at the end of the first quarter and 22-14 at halftime.

But a dismal third quarter ended up dooming the Lady Vikings. FPD failed to score while allowing the Lady Bulldogs (2-0) to drop in 17 points to essentially put the game away.

FPD was led in scoring by the four points each of Kate Patterson and Megan Ingram. Tristan Shelnutt posted a game-high 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs while Elizabeth White and Zalandria Hill chipped in with nine points each.

The Bulldogs attempted 17 free-throws in the contest, making 11. FPD, meanwhile, was 1-for-2 from the charity stripe on the night.

The Lady Vikings are back in action Tuesday night, Dec. 9, traveling to Schley County High School for a non-region game at 6 p.m.

FPD split its game with the Lady Wildcats last season. Schley County took down the Lady Vikings 49-46 in Ellaville on Dec. 21. FPD returned the favor on Jan. 25 with a 61-33 victory at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.
