Baseball Stays Perfect with 15-1 Win at Westside

MACON, Ga. – The FPD baseball team (6-0) pushed its winning streak to six to remain unbeaten by besting the Westside High School Seminoles (0-4) 15-1 in five innings at the Ed Defore Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon, March 4.

FPD scored 12 runs in the first three innings to claim the win.

“I thought we got off to a great start,” FPD head coach Denny Bryant said. “Our guys know what it takes to win and we made a point to put the ball in play and put pressure on their defense.”

The Vikings did just that.

Nine different players recorded a hit for FPD and forced Westside into committing five errors in the field.

Bo Fricks led the Viking charge at the plate, totaling three RBI’s while going 1-for-4. Will McCormick and Marshall Lyles each had two RBI’s in the victory as well.

Kevin Moreau (2-0) picked up the win for the Vikings. The southpaw threw two innings while recording two strikeouts.

“Kevin threw a couple of great innings tonight,” Bryant said. “Tyler Stubbs and Daniel Weaver had some quality work on the mound for us tonight in relief.”

The Vikings walked 10 times in the contest and outhit the Seminoles 10-3.

FPD returns to the diamond on Friday night, March 6, taking on the Mount de Sales Cavaliers in Region-7 action.
