Girls and Boys Soccer Drop Road Matches at Savannah Christian

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys soccer teams dropped a pair of road matches on Friday afternoon, March 20, to the Savannah Christian Prep Raiders.

The Lady Vikings (7-3) fell 1-0 to the Lady Raiders while the Vikings (5-4-1) tied 2-2 in regulation but succumbed to the Raiders 4-2 in penalty kicks.

In the girls match, FPD was held scoreless despite outshooting Savannah Christian 18-4.

Keresh netted the lone goal of the game for the Lady Raiders in the first period.

FPD keeper Caylee Ann Sutton picked up two saves while Savannah Christian goalie Coombs earned eight saves.

In the boys match, Spencer Ennis fired in two scores for the Vikings, with both goals assisted by Landon Newberry.

But the Raiders equalized Ennis and the Vikings with two goals from Osborne.

Both squads fought to a 2-2 draw after overtime, forcing the match to be decided in penalty kicks.

The Raiders held the advantage on shots 14-10.

FPD keeper Dontrez Johnson corralled eight saves in the losing effort.

Both FPD soccer squads close out their Savannah trip with matches at Calvary Day School on Saturday, March 21.

Kickoff for the boys game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with the girls to follow at 6 p.m.
