Lovett Too Much for Vikings, Lady Vikings

ATLANTA – The FPD varsity boys and girls soccer teams dropped a pair of matches to The Lovett School Lions on Monday afternoon, March 16.

In the boys match, the Vikings (5-2-1) fell in a 3-0 decision.

Lovett out-shot FPD 9-4 in the match and was led in scoring by the two goals of McGowan. Haley also notched a score for the Lions.

Viking keeper Dontrez Johnson picked up six saves in the loss.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings (6-2) struggled to keep pace with the Lady Lions in a 6-2 defeat.

FPD trailed 4-0 at halftime before scoring two goals in the second period.

Brooke Battson and Elizabeth Nelson each netted a goal for the Lady Vikings. Laney Elliott picked up an assist as well.

The Lady Lions out-shot the Lady Vikings 10-8 in the match.

FPD goalie Caylee Ann Sutton snagged five saves in the losing effort.

Both soccer teams return to the pitch on Wednesday, March 18, hosting the Pacelli Vikings at the FPD Soccer Complex.

The girls game is scheduled for 5 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7 p.m.
