Girls Soccer Lands Seven on All-Middle Georgia Squad

MACON, Ga. – Seven FPD varsity girls soccer players have been named to the All-Middle Georgia Girls Soccer Team, announced Tuesday, June 16 by the Macon Telegraph.

“Having seven players named to the All-Middle Georgia team is an honor,” FPD head coach Josh Trieste said. “All of our girls work hard and have certainly contributed to making our program what it is today. These seven girls represent their teammates and school very well and we are all proud of them.”

First-Team selections include recent graduates Jane Howell and Sara Robertson, who have been named to the first-team in back-to-back seasons.

Howell led the team with 18 assists and knocked in 10 goals while Robertson led the Lady Viking defense by snagging 275 steals.

Elizabeth Nelson and Maisyn Samples picked up Second-Team Honors as well.

Nelson, a freshman, set a program record with 310 steals and was second on the team with 18 goals. Samples, meanwhile, finished her senior season with 260 steals and nine assists.

Rounding out FPD’s All-Middle Georgia selections are Megan Ingram (Class of 2015), Brooke Battson (2015) and junior Maggie Johnston.

Howell, Robertson, Nelson, Samples, Ingram and Battson were also selected earlier this year to the All-Area 2 Team.

Howell, Robertson, Nelson, Samples and Battson added All-Class All-Star honors as well.
