Carson Dingler Sets Record, Will Represent US at World Youth Championships

CHICAGO – FPD rising junior Carson Dingler continues to conquer and amaze.

On Tuesday, June 30, Dingler won, broke and set a new record at the World Youth Trials with a vault of 13-4.25.

The jump earns the Macon native a two-week stay in the Windy City to train followed by a trip to Cali, Columbia to represent the United States at the World Youth Championships.

“There was really good competition here today,” Dingler told MileSplit. “I think that’s what got me over the hump. It’s nice to come back after New Balance and get a big win.”

Dingler cleared 13-1 and admitted that she was starting to feel the onset of fatigue.

But that’s when her coach stepped in to motivate.

“He told me to get with it,” Dingler said. “You just have to put everything on the table when it’s your last attempt. You have to go for it. You can’t let anything stop you.”

Dingler, indeed, didn’t let anything stop her, clearing the set height of 13-4.25 on her third and final try.

Now Dingler sets her sights on the World Championships, set for July 15-19.

The goal for Dingler, though, is simple.

“Keep clearing bars and keep getting better,” Dingler said. “I’m excited to wear USA across my chest.”

Dingler noted she wasn’t alone in her recent accomplishments.

“I think what really got me over today was God,” Dingler said. “He has blessed me so much this year. I am really thankful.”
