Boys Tennis Wins, Girls Fall in Area-1 Split with Stratford Academy

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys tennis teams took to the courts at Stratford Academy’s Jaime Kaplan Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon in GHSA Class-A Area-1 Private play with the Vikings (11-0, 3-0) earning a 3-2 win and the Lady Vikings (6-5, 2-1) dropping a 2-3 decision.

GIRLS

Singles:

2) Summer Sanders (FPD) def. E. McCook (SA) 6-4, 3-6, 10-4.

Doubles:
1) Copelan/Diponzio (SA) def. Anna Leigh Durham/Dallis Foshee (FPD) 6-2, 6-1.2) Fussell/Adams (SA) def. Katlyn Smaha/Lizzie Reed 7-6, 6-3.

The varsity tennis teams return to action for the third time this week, traveling to Columbus, Ga. for a key Area-1 match-up against the Brookstone Lady Cougars and Cougars.
