Volleyball Drops Two in Season Opener at ELCA

McDONOUGH, Ga. – The FPD varsity volleyball team (0-2) opened its 2016 season on the road on Tuesday night, falling to ELCA Lady Chargers 0-2 [20-25/19-25] and dropping to The Lovett School Lady Lions 1-2 [20-25/25-23/20-25].

In the match against ELCA, FPD was led by the four kills of Mackenzie Johnson while Lundy Lader and Caitlin Farr added two kills each.

Sophie Seneker notched two digs and Bailey Ruble recorded two blocks a well.

FPD took Lovett to three games after winning game two of the set 25-23 before falling the final game 20-25.

Kirsten Beach totaled seven kills, Johnson four, and Farr three.

Seneker continued her dig performance on the evening, finishing with three in the match.

The Lady Vikings are back in action on Thursday, August 18, opening the home portion of their schedule against Northside High School and Tattnall Square Academy.

First serve against Northside is slated for 5 p.m. with Tattnal to follow at 7 p.m. at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.
