Vikings Battle Past Northeast 63-51 at Copeland Christmas Classic

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity boys basketball team (5-2) picked up its fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday night, defeating the host 2A Northeast High School Raider 63-51 at the Copeland Christmas Classic.

Nine different players scored a field goal for FPD in the win.

Henry Middlebrooks totaled 14 to lead the Vikings charge, including four made 3-pointers in the first quarter.

C.J. Harris finished with 13 as well for FPD.

The Vikings came out of the gates scorching, outscoring the Raiders 28-10 in the first quarter to take a commanding 18-point lead.

FPD led at halftime 36-22 and kept the Raiders at arms-length in the second half to seal the win.

Darius Dunn finished with a game-high 27 points for Northeast while teammate Ty’Ree Gilbert pumped in 18.

With the win, the Vikings advance to the Championship game of the Copeland Christmas Classic on Wednesday night, Dec. 28 against Dutchtown.

Dutchtown knocked off Rutland in a thriller 74-73 on Tuesday afternoon.

Top-off against the Bulldogs is slated for 8:30 at Copeland Court at Northeast High School.
