Boys Basketball to Travel to Athens Christian Feb. 23 for GHSA Class-A Sweet 16

MACON, Ga. – After earning its first ever GHSA Class-A Private State Tournament victory over Riverside Military on Saturday, the no. 10 seeded FPD varsity boys basketball team will hit the road to Athens, Ga. to take on the no. 7 seeded Athens Christian Eagles (21-6) on Thursday night, Feb. 24.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Eagles earned a first round ‘bye’ for finishing in the Top-8 of the GHSA Class-A Private Power Ratings. Athens Christian most recently fell in the Region 8-1A Tournament Finals to Lakeview Academy 43-41 on Feb. 11

Thursday will be the first meeting between the two teams in the history of the varsity boys basketball program.

Admission is $7 to the game and only valid GHSA coaching passes and media credentials will be accepted for entry.
