Girls and Boys Golf Sweep Strong Rock Patriots at Healy Point

MACON, Ga. – The first day of spring was kind to the FPD varsity girls and boys golf teams, as both picked up 9-hole match victories over the Strong Rock Christian School Lady Patriots and Patriots at Healy Point Country Club.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings prevailed by two strokes, 90-92.

Cassidy Pearson shot a team-best 37 (1-over-par) to lead the Lady Vikings to the win.

Teammate Wimberly Thigpin finished at 53.

In the boys match, FPD picked up a 10-stroke victory, 152-162.

Jay Spivey and Luke Dasher each carded a 1-over 37 while Wesley Hanson finished with a 2-over 38. Wilson Andress was 4-over, signing his scorecard at 40.

Logan Perkins led the way for Strong Rock with a 2-under 34.

The varsity girls golf team will enjoy a lengthy break before returning to action on Wednesday, April 12, vs. Stratford at Healy Point.

The Vikings hit the links after the spring break holiday at the Stratford Invitational at Idle Hour Country Club on Monday, April 3.
