Girls Soccer Blanks Mount de Sales 3-0, Boys Shutout 3-0

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys soccer teams took to the pitch on Friday night, March 10, hosting the Mount de Sales Lady Cavalier and Cavaliers in Area-2 play at the Girardeau Fieldhouse at the FPD Soccer Complex.

In the varsity girls match, the Lady Vikings (7-0) pushed their winning streak to seven games with a 3-0 shutout over the Lady Cavaliers (3-1-3).

Elizabeth Nelson netted all three goals for the Lady Vikings and FPD defense secured its seventh shutout of the campaign.

Altogether, FPD has outscored opponents 57-0 on the 2017 season.

The Lady Vikings out-shot the Lady Cavaliers 11-1 in the match.

Lady Cavalier keeper Renee Hutton picked up five saves in the loss.

In the nightcap, the Vikings (2-2-3) fell victim to the Cavaliers (4-3) 3-0.

Nick Maiorana had the hat trick for the Cavaliers, scoring all three goals on the night.

The Cavaliers out-shot the Vikings 18-10.

FPD keeper Josh Raines totaled two saves while Mount de Sales goalie Ryan Murphey finished with 5.

The Lady Vikings and Vikings are back in action on Monday, March 13, traveling to Chattahoochee County.

The varsity girls start things off with a 5 p.m. match followed by the varsity boys at 7 p.m.
