Girls and Boys Soccer Sink Pike County Pirates

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys soccer teams were on the pitch on Thursday night, April 6, hosting a home match against the Pike County High School Lady Pirates and Pirates at the Girardeau Fieldhouse at the FPD Soccer Complex.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings (14-0) remained undefeated with a close 1-0 victory.

FPD’s goal game in the first half when Emma Lako found Kate Patterson with 13 minutes to play in the period.

The Lady Pirates held the shot advantage 9-7 while FPD keeper Caylee Ann Sutton picked up seven saves in the winning bid.

Pike County’s Brooke Shavers totaled three saves.

In the boys match, the Vikings (7-4-3) snagged a 3-1 victory over the Pirates.

Henry Middlebrooks accounted for two goals with the other score coming from Dane Wiggins.

The Pirates scored via Blake Webb.

Three different Vikings picked up assists in the victory: Robert Johnson, Noah Lyu, and Wiggins.

FPD goalie Josh Raines corralled seven saves while Pike County keeper Chandler Stinchcomb tallied four.

The Lady Vikings and Vikings are back in action on Monday, April 10, hosting Dooly County.

Kickoff for the boys contest is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the varsity girls to follow at 7:30 p.m.
