Another GHSA Season has come to an end and Viking Athletics, which is led by Athletic Director Greg Moore, was the top private-school-athletic-program in Middle Georgia for the 2017-2018 calendar year with 809 points.  The Vikings finished 8th overall in the Directors Cup GHSA Class-A standings in both public and private.

The Vikings scored 506 points overall based on the success of all the boy varsity sports which was good for 2nd overall in Class-A behind Wesleyan out of the Atlanta area. The Lady Vikings  scored 303 points overall based on the success of all the girl varsity sports which placed them just outside the top 10.

“I am so proud of our tremendous student-athletes and coaches for their hard work, dedication, and mostly for their willingness to participate in school sports, said Greg Moore. “The entire Viking Nation celebrates this fantastic accomplishment. What a blessing!”

The purpose of the Regions Bank Directors Cup is to recognize those athletic departments in all GHSA classifications who have excelled and shown superior performance.Twenty-five GHSA sports will be counted in the standings each school year. Each school’s eight highest scoring sports for each gender shall be counted in the Regions Bank Directors Cup Standings.

FPD Athletics has consistently been one of the top 10 athletic programs in both boys and girls sports since joining the GHSA in 2010. The Vikings finished runner-up in the Regions Bank Directors Cup in 2015-2016.
