Softball Defeats Houston County, Improves to 7-7

WARNER ROBINS, Ga.- After spotting Houston County High School three runs in the bottom of the first inning on the road, the First Presbyterian Day School softball team (7-7) recovered, scoring six of the final seven runs en route to a 6-4 victory Thursday night, August 30.

The win for FPD marks the seventh of the season and sixth in a row.

Adding one more run in the bottom of the first, HCHS looked to be in charge.

FPD would respond by plating four in the top of the second that included RBI singles by Hannah Davis and Jenna Byrd.

The match would continue at a 4-3 Viking advantage until HCHS scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the third to even things up at 4-4.

FPD would bounce back once more in the top of fifth. A Sumner Carlton single and a Caitlin Collins double put runners on second and third with one out. Carlton would come home on a passed ball to give the Vikings a 5-4 lead.

The Vikings would also add an insurance run in the top of the seventh to make it 6-4 on their way to the victory.
