Softball Rolls Against Howard 17-3

Scoring at least three runs in each inning but one, the First Presbyterian Day School varsity softball team (3-7) strolled to a 17-3 victory over Howard High School Wednesday night at the Warner Robins High School Tourney.

Jenna Byrd, who racked up three RBIs on three hits, led the offensive outburst for FPD along with Jill Rogers and Sumner Carlton. The Viking trio went a combined 6-11 with eight RBIs and scored five times. Ashleigh Powers also drove in two in the Viking victory.

Byrd also recorded the victory for the Vikings in the circle, allowing three runs over four innings , while striking out four and allowing just two hits on the evening.

The Viking offense, though, continued to shine. Seven of FPD’s hitters combined for 14 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

The Vikings return to action Friday night, taking on Bryan County at 7:00 in Warner Robins at the Houston County Tourney.
