Volleyball Splits Matches v. Kings Ridge and Upson Lee

MACON, Ga.- The First Presbyterian Day School volleyball team (4-6) split its matches at home Thursday night, August 30, falling to Kings Ridge in two games 25-9 and 25-20, while defeating Upson Lee in two games 25-19 and 25-16.

In the first match, the Vikings fell in the first game 25-9 and at one point rallied in game two to a seemingly hopeful lead in an effort to force a third and decisive game. Up 16-11 in the second game, the Vikings could not respond to a 14-4 run by Kings Ridge, falling 25-20.

The second match went FPD’s way, though, as the Vikings handled Upson Lee, sweeping both games 25-19 and 25-16. The win marks the fourth victory of the season for FPD.

The Vikings have a week off before returning to action Saturday, September 8, traveling to Marietta, Ga. to play multiple teams at the Walker Play Date hosted by Walker High School.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics, home to multiple region and state championships in both the GISA and GHSA, strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while continuing to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.
