Football Jumps to No. 8 in GHSA Power Rankings

MACON, Ga.- After a 24-20 fourth quarter come-from-behind-victory on the road over GHSA  member Pace Academy High School on September 21, the First Presbyterian Day School football team (2-1) stands at no. 8 in the latest GHSA Class A Private School Power Rankings for the week ending September 23.

The rankings are used to determine state playoff qualifications at the end of the season. The Vikings came in at 16th in the previous poll, but jumped eight spots this week after the victory over the Knights.

FPD has averaged nearly 29 points of offense this season while holding opponents to just three points overall during the fourth quarter.

The Vikings host Lincoln County High School on Friday, September 28 in its first region game of the season and in school history as a member of region 7-A. The game also marks the first meeting between the Vikings and Red Devils. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
