Football’s McCormick and Black to be Honored by Macon Touchdown Club

MACON, Ga.- The First Presbyterian Day School football team (1-1) and head coach Greg Moore are pleased to announce two winners of weekly awards given by The Macon Touchdown Club (MTC).

Senior wide receiver Scott McCormick was named “Back of the Week” for Week 1 by the organization. McCormick caught one touchdown pass while bringing in five receptions for 197 yards, good for a 39.4 yards per reception average in Week 1 at George Walton Academy.

Junior Will Black was also awarded “Lineman (Linebacker) of the Week” for Week 2 by the MTC. The junior led the Vikings to a 24-0 shutout victory over AAA Pike County on Friday, September 7. Black had seven first hits and 13 tackles in the FPD home opening win.

Both players will be honored by the Macon Touchdown Club on Monday, September 10 at  6:30 p.m. at the Methodist Children’s Home. The guest speaker of the event will be Georgia Southern head football coach Jeff Monken.

The FPD football teams returns to the gridiron after a scheduled open week for September 14, taking on Pace Academy in Atlanta on September 21 at 7:30 p.m.
