Softball Announces Schedule Changes

MACON, Ga.- The First Presbyterian Day School softball team (8-7) and head coach Jimmy Turner have announced a change in the regular season schedule today, September 10, 2012.

Instead of playing one game at Twiggs County High School on September 18, the Vikings will add another contest, playing a double header. The time of the match will be determined at a later date.

With two games now scheduled against Twiggs County, FPD has removed its September 27 contest vs. Twiggs and replaced it with a game against Rutland High School starting at 5:30 p.m. The game will be the team’s designated ‘Senior Night’ for 2012.

The Vikings are 8-7 on the year, having won seven in a row after dropping seven straight from August 18-22. The Vikings square off in two key region matches this week at Wilkinson County High School on September 11 and host Georgia Military College Prep on September 13. The Vikings then travel to take on five teams in Tennessee at the Chattanooga-Score International Tourney on Friday and Saturday.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics, home to multiple region and state championships in both the GISA and GHSA, strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while continuing to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory. Now a member of the GHSA, the Vikings have continued to provide FPD athletes, coaches, fans and spectators a positive, Christian environment on a daily basis.
