Softball Sweeps Doubleheader Against Twiggs County

MACON, Ga.- The First Presbyterian Day School softball team (14-10, 4-0 Reg. 7-A) continued its region winning ways going on Wednesday, September 19, defeating Twiggs County High School in a doubleheader 15-0 and 15-0.

The Vikings played just three innings in both games to capture both victories.

In game one, FPD was led by Caitlin Collins, Jill Rogers and Hannah Davis at the plate. All three players put up two hits each in as many at-bats. Collins led the team in RBI’s, driving in four in the contest.

FPD scored seven times in the first inning and eight in the second. Altogether, the Vikings tallied 11 hits and walked eight times.

Hannah Davis recorded the victory for FPD, tossing two innings and striking out eight.

In game two, the FPD offense struck for 15 runs again in the win on 11 hits. The Vikings scored seven times in the first, and four in the second and third.

The Vikings were led by Sumner Carlton’s 3-3 performance along with two hits from Davis. Collins and Davis drove in two as well.

Caitlin Collins pitched her way to victory for FPD, throwing three innings and fanning eight.

The Vikings return to the field quickly, taking on Wilkinson County High School on Thursday, September 20 at 5:00 p.m. in another region 7-A match.
