Football Stays at No. 8 in Power Rankings

MACON, Ga.- After three straight region victories, most recently a 42-14 win on October 19 at Hancock Central, the First Presbyterian Day School football team (5-2, 3-1 Reg. 7-A) stands at no. 8 in the latest GHSA Class A Private School Power Rankings for the week ending October 20.

The rankings are used to determine state playoff qualifications and seeding at the end of the season. The Vikings are up three spots, coming in at no. 11 in the previous poll.

This marks the third consecutive week the Vikings have moved up or stayed the same. FPD was also ranked no. 8 in the September 25 and October 13 power rankings.

FPD has averaged nearly 36 points of offense this season while holding opponents to 31 points in the fourth quarter.

The Vikings host Wilkinson County High School (5-2 & #9 in the GHSA Class A Public School Power Rankings) on Friday, October 26 in a region 7-A contest. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at George S. Johnson Memorial Stadium.
