Football Wins First Region Game of the Year on Homecoming Against GMC

MACON, Ga.- Using the twelfth man of a large crowd on “Homecoming Night 2012” to its advantage, the First Presbyterian Day School football team (3-2, 1-1 Reg. 7-A) defeated Georgia Military College (GMC) Prep Bulldogs 31-7 on Friday, October 5.

The Vikings struck first with 3:48 left in the first quarter when Brooks Stroud ran in a 15-yard touchdown to give FPD a 7-0 lead.

FPD would advance its lead in the second quarter when Will Black found the end zone on a four-yard touchdown run at the 10:44 mark to make it 14-0 FPD.

GMC added its only score of the game early in the third quarter on an 88-yard pass from Rekarche Griffin to Markel Jones.

The Vikings ended the contest on a 17-0 scoring run that included two rushing touchdowns by Stroud. Kicker Conner Albright also nailed a 30-yard field goal in the Viking spurt.
