Softball to Play Darlington in Opening Round of GHSA State Playoffs

THOMASTON, Ga.- The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) has released the bracket for the 2012 State Playoffs in Class A for private schools.

The First Presbyterian Day School softball team (17-11, 6-1 GHSA Reg. 7-A) will be the no. 4 seed and host the Darlington School (15-14) on Wednesday, October 17 in a best two-out-of-three game series. The first two games will be on Wednesday, while game three would be on Thursday, October 18 if necessary.

The Vikings gained an automatic berth into the tournament by winning the Region 7-A Championship over Glascock County 13-0 on October 10.

Game one will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, followed by game two 20 minutes after.

If the series were to go to three games, Thursday’s time will be announced once known.
