Football’s McCormick and Black Featured on Local Newscasts

MACON, Ga.- First Presbyterian Day School football senior Scott McCormick and junior Will Black have been featured on local news stations in central Georgia.

McCormick has been awarded the 13WMAZ Athlete of the Week for week ending November 2. McCormick racked up 82 yards and a touchdown in a 45-8 victory at Warren County on November 2. The senior is averaging 22.4 yards per catch and has six touchdowns on the season.

The award for McCormick comes in conjunction with another recognition for the FPD wide receiver. The team captain was also tabbed “Youth of the Month” by the Macon Exchange Club for October.

Black was also featured on the 41 NBC Sports Spotlight Segment on November 8. The junior leads the Vikings in tackles with 97.

The leader on FPD’s defense also gave his student testimony at FCA’s Fields of Faith, which was hosted by FPD on September 26 in front of over 1,000 middle Georgia high school students.

Black is also a team captain for the Vikings.
