Playoff Bound! Football to Play at Brookstone in Round One of State Playoffs

THOMASTON, Ga.- After a 2012 regular season that has included a win over a AAA program, a come-from-behind victory on the road at Pace Academy, and a 31-7 Homecoming victory over Georgia Military College, the First Presbyterian Day School football team (6-4, 4-3 Reg. 7A) is headed back to the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class A Playoffs for the second time in school history in as many years.

The news comes from the GHSA office, who released the brackets Wednesday, November 14, 2012.

The Vikings will face region 4-A member Brookstone (8-2) in Columbus on Friday, November 23.

While there is no history game-wise between the two teams, there is on the sidelines. Current Cougar head coach Brad Dehem served as an assistant coach on Greg Moore’s coaching staff from 1997-2001 and 2003-2005.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Brookstone’s Rex Knight Football Field.

The Vikings made the GHSA Playoffs in 2011, falling in round one to Bremen 43-28.
