Softball Announces All-State Team Members

MACON, Ga.- The First Presbyterian Day School softball team and head coach Jim Turner have released the 2012 All-State Team as determined by the Georgia High School Association.

The team includes four members of the Viking softball team, who won the 2012 Region 7 title over Glascock County on October 3.

All three seniors made the team for the Vikings. Jenna Byrd, Claire Crawford, and Hannah Davis also join junior Caitlin Collins to round out the Viking four.

Byrd, Crawford, and Davis also received All-Region honors earlier in November. The Vikings also had four honorable mentions on the All-Region Team: junior Mary Micah Lee, sophomores Sumner Carlton and Courtney Lawrence, and freshman Jill Rogers.

The season was a successful one for FPD as the Vikings advanced to the GHSA Class A Private School Playoffs before being eliminated by Darlington.
