Swimming Finishes Strong at Jan. 18 Meet, Johnson Qualifies for State Meet

MACON, Ga.- The First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys swimming teams competed in their ninth meet of the season on Friday, January 18, hosting an event at The Northside Pool. The event welcomed 15 total teams on the night.

The Vikings posted impressive finishes. The girls racked up 173 points, which was good for a fourth place finish. The girls finished behind first place team winner Warner Robins High School, who posted 576.50 points in the victory.

The boys team finished the night in third place. FPD posted 247 points on the night, finishing finishing behind first place winner Houston County, who tallied 466 points.

Junior Gerald Johnson qualified for the GHSA State Meet in the 500m freestyle. Johnson is the first qualifier for a state meet for FPD in two years.

FPD returns to the water on Saturday, January 26, hosting the “One Last Splash” at Mercer University at 10:00 a.m.
