Boys Soccer Defeats Central in Day One of Viking Cup, Advance to Semifinals

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School boys soccer team (2-0) was in action on Thursday, Feb. 21, hosting the annual Viking Cup Tournament and welcoming Central High School for its opening round match.

FPD continued its early season success, shutting out the Chargers 6-0 and advancing to the Viking Cup semifinals.

The Vikings got two goals from Bradley Mullis while Spencer Ennis, Kevin Griggs, Kelsey Smith and Christian Moore each netted a goal.

Assisting in the goals were Griggs, Moore, Ennis, Brad Powell and Conner Gettmann.

FPD keeper Matthew Feagin recorded four saves in the victory and picked up his second shutout of the season.

The Vikings outshot Central 28-5 in the match.

FPD will now face Veterans High School in the Viking Cup semifinals on Friday, Feb. 22 at 6:00 p.m.
