Final Basketball Rankings Released; Boys & Girls Just Miss Out on Playoffs

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys basketball teams are  in the top-25 in the seventh and final GHSA Class A Private School Power Rankings of the season, released February 19, by the GHSA.

The top-16 teams make the state playoffs according to the power ratings.

The Lady Vikings (14-12) moved up four spots, coming in at no. 17 and accumulating 8.26 total points. The girls missed out of the playoffs by one spot, finishing as region tournament runner-up to Wilkinson County on Feb. 16.

The Vikings (13-12) jumped one spot to no. 19 in the final poll, missing the playoffs by three spots. FPD fell to Aquinas in its region tournament opener on Feb. 13.

The season has come to a close for both basketball teams. FPD will graduate eight seniors, two from the girls team and six from the boys squad. The FPD Athletic Department sincerely thanks each member for their contribution and dedication to FPD athletics over the years.
