Tinkey Signs with U.S. Air Force Academy

MACON, Ga. – First Presbyterian Day School senior cross country and track star Grace Tinkey signed a national letter of intent with the United States Air Force Academy on Thursday, Feb. 7 to run cross country as well as indoor and outdoor track.

Head coach April Cassell spoke at the event, highlighting Tinkey’s career accomplishments.

Also speaking at the signing was Joe McDaniel, Tinkey’s middle school cross country coach.

Tinkey is one of the best runners to come through the girls cross country program at FPD, claiming multiple individual titles throughout her freshman, sophomore and junior campaigns. She was also named 2010 and 2011 Gatorade Runner of the year for the state of Georgia.

The senior has also been named The Macon Telegraph’s All-Middle Georgia Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2008, ’09, ’10, and ’11.
