Baseball Makes it 11 Straight with Region Win Over GMC

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School baseball team (11-0, 5-0 Reg. 7A) scored 11 runs in five innings and held the Georgia Military College Prep Bulldogs scoreless on three hits en route to its eleventh straight victory on Tuesday, March 19.

FPD pushed across all eleven runs in the first three innings of the contest to seal the win.

A two-run single by Hunter Hotchkiss in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Tanner Johnston, a two-run double by Dylan Stokes and an RBI double by Joshua Weaver sparked the Viking offense in the early going.

Hotchkiss, Johnston and Stokes also combined for seven RBI on the night.

FPD recorded just five hits but walked 11 times on the day to help fuel the offense.

Weaver (4-0) was tabbed the winning pitcher on the night for the Vikings. The righty struck out four and walked one over three innings of work.

Austin Cox and Jake Peavy also threw an inning each in relief. Altogether, Viking pitchers struck out 11 GMC batters on the day.

The baseball team returns to the diamond on Friday, March 22, traveling to Aquinas for a region game at 5:00 p.m.
