Baseball Makes it Eight in a Row with Region Win vs. Glascock

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School baseball team (8-0, 2-0 Reg. 7A) pushed its winning streak to eight games on Tuesday, March 12, defeating region opponent Glascock County High School 12-1 in five innings.

The Vikings scored seven runs in the first three innings of the game to claim the victory.

FPD outhit the Panthers 12-4 on the night and forced Glascock into committing three errors.

Senior Scott McCormick paced the Vikings at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two singles, a double and three RBI’s.

Seniors Sam Pope, Hunter Hotchkiss, and Joshua Weaver all recorded two hits for the Vikings. Dylan Stokes also knocked in a pair of runs for the Red & Black in the win.

Hotchkiss (3-0) picked up the win on mound for FPD. The righty tossed two scoreless frames while striking out four Glascock batters.

Sam Jones and Kevin Moreau also saw time on the hill for the Vikings, combining for four strikeouts and one earned run allowed. The duo also scattered one hit in three innings of work.

FPD has run-ruled its opponents in five consecutive games.

The Vikings have outscored opponents 94-25 so far this season.

FPD returns to the diamond on Friday, March 15, traveling to play Lincoln County in a doubleheader starting at 4:00 p.m.
