Baseball Wins at Home vs. Westside

MACON, Ga. – Scoring 13 runs in the first three innings of the game, the First Presbyterian Day School baseball team (6-0) remained undefeated, winning its game versus Westside 15-5 on Wednesday night, March 6.

The Vikings scored five runs in the second inning and plated eight runs in the third to seal the win and push its winning streak to six in a row.

Senior Sam Pope was 2-for-3 at the dish, hitting two doubles and racking up 3 RBIs on the night. Neal Tolbert drove in two Viking runs as well.

FPD out-hit Westside 12-6. The Seminoles also had trouble in the field, picking up six errors in the game.

Sam Jones (2-0) got the victory on the mound for the Vikings. Jones allowed three runs in 3.1 innings of action while striking out six Seminole batters and walking just one.

FPD returns to the diamond quickly, traveling to Wilkinson County for its first region game of the year on Friday, March 8. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.
