Tennis Sweeps Mary Persons

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys tennis teams were in action on Thursday, March 15, welcoming Mary Persons High School.

Both squads enjoyed success, with the girls and boys claiming 5-0 wins against the Bulldogs.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings got singles wins from Katy Hall, Mary Madison Foshee and Olivia Taylor. In doubles, FPD’s duos of Summer Sanders/Sydney Reese and Bonnie Scurry/Caroline Stroud cranked out wins to secure the shutout win.

The boys match was also a shutout for the Vikings, with Michael Durham and Miller Durham winning 8-1 over their respective opponents. Brooks Hanson also garnered an 8-0 shutout win for the Vikings.

In doubles, Dylan Liles/Max Chandler won 8-3 and Tucker Braddy/Alec Martin defeated Fry/Allen to capture the win.

With the win in today’s boys match, the Vikings (5-0) remain undefeated.

The varsity tennis teams hit the court again on Thursday, March 21, welcoming West Laurens High School for a match beginning 4:00 p.m.
