Atkinson to Assume New Role in Athletic Department

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics and Athletic Director Greg Moore have announced a new administrative role for the upcoming 2013-14 school year.

Rennie Atkinson will step into the role of Associate Athletic Director, overseeing team finances and game-day operations for all sports.

Atkinson will continue to teach History at FPD but will vacate his on-field coaching duties for the FPD football team.

Moore will still serve as Athletic Director for the Vikings, a title he has held since 1997.

“With the expansion of sports being offered and continued high student participation year round, comes the need to offer more support to our coaching staff and teams – a role that Coach Atkinson will help provide as we move forward,” Moore said.

Moore is optimistic for the new opportunity the school has with “Coach A.”

“I will continue to serve as our Athletic Director,” Moore said. “Our Athletic Department is very large and I’m hopeful that Rennie’s new role will help to better serve our coaches and our student athletes in a variety of ways.”
