Baseball Wins at Woodland Henry

McDONOUGH, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School baseball team hit the road on Tuesday night, April 23, for a game at Woodland Henry High School.

The Vikings (19-1) were victorious in the effort, pulling off a 8-5 win after scoring seven of its eight runs in the final three innings.

Down 2-1 after four innings, FPD scored five runs in the fifth inning to take the lead for good propelled by a two-run triple from senior Tanner Johnston. Dylan Stokes also singled in the inning to bring home Will McCormick.

Kevin Moreau (3-0) earned the win on the mound for the Vikings, tossing five innings and striking out eight on the night. Sam Jones picked up the save in 1.1 innings of work with one strikeout.

FPD returns to the diamond on Friday, April 26, taking on region opponent Aquinas. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. at Ben Harden Memorial Field.
