Basketball Lands Five Players on All-Middle Georgia GHSA Basketball Team

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Telegraph has released its All-Middle Georgia GHSA Girls and Boys basketball team for the 2012-13 season.

FPD totaled five players on the team.

Savannah Phillips was named to the 3rd Team. The junior was a key offensive piece this past season in leading the Lady Vikings to the region championship game. Phillips averaged 13.4 and 4.2 rebounds per game on the year.

Teammate Hannah Davis also garnered a spot on the team as an Honorable Mention. The senior knocked in 63 3-pointers throughout the season, good for a new school record.

On the boys team, FPD’s TJ Sams was also named to the 3rd Team. The junior averaged 22.3 points per game and over 25 points per contest over the seasons final five games.

Teammates Caleb Dupree and O’Showen Williams were named Honorable Mentions. Dupree scored over 1,000 points in his career as a Viking while Williams, a freshman, averaged 14.1 points per game and 4.2 assists per contest.

The Lady Vikings finished the season at 14-12, while the boys were 13-12.
