Girls and Boys Tennis Knock Off Spalding

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys tennis teams hit the courts on Tuesday, April 2, welcoming Spalding High School.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings (4-3) fought to a 3-2 win. FPD’s claimed a singles match victory from senior Katy Hall 6-1, 6-1.

In the doubles match, FPD’s duo of Summer Sanders/Sydney Reese won their respective match 6-1, 6-1 while Bonnie Scurry/Abigail Pierce won in the three games 6-1, 3-6, 10-8.

The Vikings (7-0) also won, shutting out Spalding 5-0.

FPD swept its singles matches, fueled by senior Daniel Strawn’s 6-2, 6-3 win. In doubles, the Vikings won both matches with Brooks Hanston/Tristan Hilyer and Tucker Braddy/Sam Ferro.

The tennis teams return to the courts on Monday, April 8, traveling to Spalding High School for a match beginning at 4 p.m.
