14th Annual Golf Tournament a Success

MACON, Ga. – First Presbyterian Day School held its 14th Annual Golf Tournament at Idle Hour Country Club on Monday, May 20, with all in attendance enjoying a day on the links.

While incentive to play golf is enough to participate, FPD offers an event that is looked forward to every year.

“What a great day! So many people made this year’s tournament a huge success and we are thankful for the participation and support,” FPD Athletic Director Greg Moore said. “This thing has really grown into a first-class event and we are grateful to Idle Hour and all of the staff there for their part in making our tournament the success it has become.”

With a full field of teams, great prizes, and food served to participants, a good time was had by all.

Winning the Red Division was Randy Wright, Dean of Students Pat Rabun, High School Principal Joe Childs and Athletic Director Greg Moore.

The Black Division title went to the foursome of Leonard Bevill, Victor Andress, Jeffrey Cutright and Dan Hinton.

Both divisions held a “chip-off” to determine the overall champion.

The black division took home the title, just edging out the red division by one foot.

“Those who play understand that we’re trying to boost our programs and enhance the experience our kids have while they wear the red and black,” Moore said. “All of the proceeds from this day help us to do that.”

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory as a member of the Georgia High School Association.
